Datawarehouse Manager

The Data Warehouse Manager will lead a team of developers and architects, contributing to the advancement of the reporting and analytics function within the organization.

This resource will need a balanced skill set of business acumen, customer facing support and technical understanding of business intelligence.  

Responsibilities
– Work with business analysts, source system support teams, and other partners to prioritize and drive the technical deliverables across multiple data warehousing work efforts such as data acquisition, data modelling, data distribution and reporting
 
– Interface with business leaders, proactively communicating and collaborating with them throughout the entire delivery lifecycle
 
– Provide data expertise in various aspects of the project lifecycle
 
– Provide leadership and guidance for developing and maintaining application architecture and development standards which adhere to industry best practices
 
– Articulate the trade-offs, benefits and risks of all architecture and design solutions
 
– Provide direction and oversight for data modelers on data profiling, design of relational and dimensional models, and data mapping documentation
 
– Evolve and support the basic tenets of good data architecture and data warehouse applications development
 
– Collaborate closely with IS and business customers to define and implement effective and efficient solutions to business challenges and opportunities that require data management or data warehouse involvement
 
– Establish and own the data dictionary, data repository and data governance/stewardship of the data model for the Enterprise Data Warehouse
 
– Assess cross-project impacts and take steps to resolve issues, particularly those standing in the way of progress, escalating when appropriate
 
– Work with 3rd party providers for cloud computing and development services
 
– Responsible for hardware and software capacity and long-term planning solutions
 
– Clear and concise communication, interpersonal, organizational and team building skills, business judgment, and proven expertise in directing the efforts of a technical staff

 
Qualifications
–  Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field required
– 10+ years of experience in data warehouse, data migration or integration
– Minimum 5 years of lead experience in data warehousing, reporting and/or migration
– Minimum 5 years of experience with data warehouse architecture, ETL, database and SQL performance tuning
– Minimum 3 years of experience in data profiling, designing & developing logical & physical data model using data warehouse methodologies
– Experience with one or more ETL tools such as Data Services, Data Integrator, OBIEE, Informatica, and SSIS required – Experience with BI tools such as BusinessObjects, Tableau, or Power BI preferred
– Experience with SQL Server and MySQL databases preferred – Exposure to Cloud integration technologies a plus
– Thorough understanding of end-to-end Data Warehousing architecture, source-to-target mappings, reporting – Conversant in issues relative to data quality
– Ability to work with senior executives to understand demand and delivery expectations
– Expert at problem solving and high degree of data analytical skills
– Capable of diving into details where required while still retaining the capacity of considering the larger picture and focusing on the long-term impact of the decisions being made
– O&G industry background helpful
